[Development Case] Snow Melting System Utilizing Independent Power Supply

Introducing a case study of a snow melting system connected to an independent power source that is resilient to disasters!

Our company is developing snow damage countermeasure products using surface heating elements. In light of the difficulties faced by disaster victims in keeping warm during the Great East Japan Earthquake, we decided to work on developing a system that can easily secure thermal energy even in emergencies. The developed system warms the surface heating element to around 20°C to melt snow. While the surface heating element has the advantage of quick startup and can be cut to any size, it cannot generate heat without electricity. Therefore, to ensure power generation even in the event of a power outage, we developed a system that combines commercial power sources with batteries and independent solar power generation.
